We’re Focused on What Matters Most Right Now in Charlotte

At the Junior League of Charlotte we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s most pressing needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.

The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) has a deep and rich history of serving our community. We have donated over $13.7 million in grants and special projects and provided more than 1.6 million volunteer hours. The JLC’s Community Impact teams’ partner with nonprofit agencies and support their programs with passionate, trained volunteers. For a list of current community projects, click here.

Our current community focus is children’s mental and physical health.

The Junior League of Charlotte partners with our community to ensure that children from kindergarten to fifth grade have support and access to mental and physical health programs in priority areas of Mecklenburg County.

  • Promote Healthy Living – fitness, understanding nutrition and encouraging healthy choices and behavior.
  • Support Mental Well-Being including toxic stress, bullying, abuse & neglect and supporting safe spaces.
  • Provide Access to Healthcare and Food – Increase access to healthcare including immunizations and health screenings. Improve access to affordable, well-rounded meals.

The Done in a Day committee provides short-term volunteer support for nonprofits serving the Charlotte-Metro community. Requests may be submitted at any time and are reviewed in cycles throughout the year.
