President’s Message

Welcome to the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC)!
My name is Laura J. Snead, and I have the honor of serving as President of the Junior League of Charlotte for the 2026–2027 League year. I am grateful you are here and interested in learning more about our organization.
I have been a member of the Junior League of Charlotte since 2015, when I was looking for a way to meet like-minded women in leadership and to give back to the community. During that time, I have built meaningful friendships, developed skills beyond what I experience in my day job, and had the opportunity to make a lasting impact in our community.
Since its founding in 1926, the Junior League of Charlotte has served as a foundation for our community and for the leadership development of women. The League began when 30 women came together to establish the Junior League Baby House to care for orphaned children. Since then, we have donated more than $13.7 million in grants and special projects and contributed over 1.7 million volunteer hours to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community.
As we continue our 100th anniversary celebration, we reflect on a century of impact while focusing on how we carry that legacy forward with purpose and connection.
Our commitment to developing women leaders remains at the center of all we do. This year, we will place a strong emphasis on training and education, ensuring our members gain skills that extend into their professional, personal, and civic lives.
Our impact is made possible through meaningful community partnerships. We are proud to support Classroom Central, Girl Flow, Hope Haven, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Thompson. Through these organizations, our members give their time and talents in ways that strengthen and uplift the Charlotte community while building leadership experience that lasts a lifetime.
As we continue to move through this milestone year, our focus remains clear. We will continue to invest in our members, give back through volunteer service, and serve as a strong foundation for both community impact and leadership growth in Charlotte.
We invite you to be a part of this next chapter. Join us as a member, support our work, and help us continue building a legacy of leadership and service.

We appreciate your support. Welcome to the JLC!
